Renovation of this 430-bed adult male and female detention facility included the replacement of all CCR and all remote control panels and all supporting electronics with a new 12-node (2 server) touch screen system with a centralized PLC system.
Also included was the complete replacement of the intercom and paging systems and the head end and most of the field equipment of the CCTV systems.
UPS systems were provided for all equipment. Recording systems included general surveillance at low resolution and frame capture rate, and high resolution (4CIF @ 30 fps) for all video and audio associated with door control, and all alarm conditions.
Ergonomic work stations were designed to allow ease of use by CCR and remote officers. This project required a “Hot Cutover” to minimize disruption of operations. This project was done simultaneously to the designs for the new Thurston County ARC (Accountability and Restitution Center), also provided by HK.
