After the establishment of HK, the County contracted for Mr. Hopkins to provide additional renovation services as well as provide the designs for the 480-bed, $32M expansion of the facility to 1000 beds.
Work included designs for custom graphic control panels for the control of door, intercom and paging, and video surveillance control systems for the new areas and the upgrading of all other security systems in the facility. Other systems included 2-access control (card reader) systems, nurse call, radio, UPS, visitors’ intercom systems, facility intercom, and MATV distribution.
This work was done simultaneously to other projects HK provided for the County including the Mead Building Alcohol and Drug Treatment Facility, River Patrol Police Facility, and Justice Center Temporary Booking Facility.
