Frank Hopkins has more than 30 years experience in electronics, including over 25 years experience in the design of electronics systems for over 500 buildings in more than 100 justice and correctional facilities.

He specializes in the design of security systems that integrate alarm gathering and annunciation of door control and monitoring, intercom & paging, access control, perimeter security, surveillance television, guard tour verification, and fire alarm systems. His designs include custom control panel and graphics computer (touch screen) systems for the Human-Machine-Interface (HMI) to the controlled systems.

Other systems frequently integrated into his design include low voltage control of television, power, lighting, domestic water, and HVAC systems.

Ada County Jail, 300 Bed Expansion and 500 Bed Renovation - Boise, Idaho
This 800 bed facility included custom touch screen graphic computer systems for duress, audio monitoring, door control and monitoring, intercom and paging systems, and CCTV system camera selection at the indirect management central control rooms. The six node touch screen system also included control of domestic water, power, lighting, and television circuits. All systems were fully integrated through the use of a PLC system. Other systems included television distribution, UPS, and fire alarm systems.

Ada County Jail, 150 Bed Medical Unit Addition - Boise, Idaho
This 150 bed facility included custom touch screen graphic computer systems for duress, audio monitoring, door control and monitoring, intercom and paging systems, and CCTV system camera selection at the indirect management central control rooms. The new three node touch screen system expanded the jails’ existing six node touch screen system designed by HK in 2001. Also included were controls of domestic water, power, lighting, and television circuits. All systems were fully integrated through the use of a PLC system. Other systems included UPS, television distribution, and fire alarm systems.

Ada County Jail, POD D Expansion - Boise, Idaho
Work in this 1000+Bed Adult Male and Female Jail included a 60-bid expansion, a new touch screen networked into the existing system and a new PLC system node networked into the existing system. The existing intercom, surveillance television, CATV, and duress alarm systems were also expanded to support the new Pod.

Anaconda County Juvenile Detention Facility - Anaconda, Montana
This new 70-bed facility included custom touch screen graphic computer systems for duress, audio monitoring, door control and monitoring, intercom and paging systems, and CCTV system camera selection at the indirect management central control room. The touch screen system also included control of power, lighting, television, and detainee telephone circuits. LCD touch screen panels were designed for each of the direct management officers’ stations. All systems were fully integrated through the use of a PLC system. Other systems included television distribution visitors’ intercom and access control (card reader) systems

Berkeley Public Safety Building (city jail) - Berkeley, California
This 70-Bed detention facility included intake, dormitory, single cell, and multiple departmental administration spaces. Systems included custom control panels for integration of door monitoring and control, local intercom, and CCTV system. All Systems were fully integrated through the use of a PLC system. General security was provided in the administration and property holding areas utilizing glass breakage detection, motion detection, and door position monitoring. Other systems included CATV, visitors' intercom, line-up intercom systems, and covert audio and video monitoring and archiving.

Clackamas County Jail Security Renovation and Upgrade - Oregon City, Oregon
This 320 bed existing facility included a new 10 bed medical wing and 25 bed dorm and new Central Control and Security Electronics room. The work included the total renovation of the security and communications systems and the hot cutover to a new 9 node touch screen graphic computer system for audio monitoring, door control and monitoring, intercom and paging systems, and CCTV system camera selection at a distributed network of indirect management stations. The touch screen system also included control of power, lighting, inmate telephones and HVAC circuits. All systems were fully integrated through the use of a new distributed PLC system with redundant headend processors and power supplies. All CCTV and audio systems are automatically recorded at high resolution for an extended period of time. The audio and video systems utilized new and existing analog systems which is encoded for networking to facilitate off-site recording and monitoring. All video was routed through a matrix switcher to eliminate latency and the resultant loss of lip-sync associated with most IP video systems. Also included was a 48 seat video visitation system and visitor’s intercom systems.

Coalinga State Mental Hospital for Violent Offenders. - Coalinga, California
This 1500 bed, $365,000,000 - 1,000,000 sq. ft. facility includes touch screen graphic computer systems for duress alarm and audio monitoring, door control and monitoring, intercom and paging systems, a two layer perimeter security system, and CCTV system with digital video archiving. LCD touch screen panels are provided at direct management officers' stations, and custom designed control panels are provided at the towers and at selected other CDC stations. All DMH systems were fully integrated through the use of a PLC system. CDC systems were integrated through the use of hard-wired relay logic systems. Other systems included master PBX type intercom, television distribution, visitors intercom, key control systems, and access control (card reader) systems.

Columbia County Jail - St. Helens, Oregon
This 300-bed facility includes custom control panels for duress alarm monitoring, audio monitoring, door control and monitoring, intercom and paging systems, and CCTV system camera selection at the indirect management officers' stations. The control panels were also utilized for control of domestic water, power receptacles, lighting circuits, and the television system. All systems were fully integrated through the use of a PLC system. Other systems included television distribution, visitor's intercom, UPS, and access control (card reader) systems.

Colorado 750 Bed Women’s Detention Facility – Co.
This new privately owned 800 bed (including 50 segregation intake and medical bed) facility included an 10 node redundant touch screen graphic computer systems and a hierarchy of control takeover for duress, audio monitoring, door control and monitoring, intercom and paging systems, and CCTV system camera selection. Also included were digital video recording of both video and audio associated with events and duress alarms, a master PBX type intercom system, and visitor’s intercom systems.

Columbia County Courthouse and Existing Jail Renovation - St. Helens, Oregon
These facilities were upgraded to modernize the entry officers' stations. Work included the renovation, expansion, and relocation of the existing CCTV, duress alarm monitoring, and door monitoring systems.

Columbia County Jail 224 Bed Expansion Project – St. Helens, Oregon.
This project consists of a multi-node touch screen graphical user interface connected through a distributed PLC system utilizing redundant processing for the monitoring and control of security systems throughout the facility. Controlled systems include CCTV, intercom and paging, and door and gate monitoring and control systems. Other systems included CATV and video recording systems. Layered systems allow for control transfer to the existing Central Control Room.

Deschutes County, Master Plan – Bend, Oregon.
This master plan included a review of all CCTV and security systems in the existing jail and formed the basis for the work later defined in the existing jail renovation project, the renovation of the existing work release center, and the construction of the new jail facility.

Deschutes County Jail, Work Release Center – Bend, Oregon.
The work of renovation this existing 80-bed detention facility included a local indirect officer’s station and a remote officer’s station at the adjacent Jail Central Control Room. Systems included touch panels integrated with door control and monitoring, CCTV with digital video recording, and intercom & paging systems.

Deschutes County Jail Renovation – Bend, Oregon.
The work in this existing 228-bed detention facility included the replacement of all existing control panels with a custom designed, multi-node touch screen graphic computer systems for monitoring and control of doors, intercom and paging systems, and CCTV camera systems into a modern PLC based integrated detention electronics system. The four node touch screen system also included integrated with the nearby Work Release Center and facilitates remote takeover of that facility. Control of the Jail includes control of power, lighting, and television circuits as well as inmate telephone circuits.

Deschutes County New Jail and Courts Complex – Bend, Oregon.
The work in this new 350-bed detention facility included a 6 node custom developed touch screen graphical user interface (GUI) for monitoring and control of doors, intercom and paging systems, and CCTV systems into a single PLC based system interfaced with the adjacent Work Release Center and Existing Jail. Control of the new Jail also includes control of power, lighting, and television circuits and inmate telephone circuits.

Eastern Oregon Correction Institution - Pendleton, Oregon
This renovation of an existing 1800 bed adult detention facility included the replacement of the existing fire alarm system and interface to existing door control and elevator systems using a networked touch screen control system.

Fremont City Public Safety Building - Fremont, California
This facility included dormitory, single cell, and multiple departmental administration spaces. Systems included custom control panels for integration of door monitoring and control, local intercom, and CCTV system. All Systems were fully integrated through the use of a PLC system. The control panels were also utilized for control of domestic water, power receptacles, lighting circuits, and the television system. General security was provided in the administration and property holding areas utilizing glass breakage detection, motion detection, and door position monitoring. Expansion of the adjacent facilities existing access control (card reader) system was also included. Designs for 24-hour video archiving of all CCTV cameras were provided. Other systems included UPS, MATV, visitors' intercom, and line-up intercom systems.

Fresno County Main Jail and South Annex Renovations - Fresno, California
Work in these facilities included renovation of existing spaces and the supporting control panels, the addition of new CCTV cameras, and an ADA upgrade of the existing fire alarm and the existing security systems. The systems include custom control panels for duress alarm monitoring, audio monitoring, door control and monitoring, intercom and paging systems, and CCTV system camera selection at the indirect management officers' stations. All systems were fully integrated through expansion of existing Simplex and Grinell fire alarm systems.

Fresno County North Jail 200 Bed Expansion (3 new Floors) - Fresno, California
This 200-bed expansion of an existing 2-story jail included the construction of 3 new floors each with a mezzanine level, above the existing building. The systems include custom control panels for duress alarm monitoring, audio monitoring, door control and monitoring, intercom and paging systems, and CCTV system camera selection at each of the three indirect management officers' stations and at the Central Control Room. Revisions and replacements of existing control panels were also included. All systems were fully integrated through expansion of an existing Simplex fire alarm system. Other systems included fire alarm, television distribution, and visitors intercom systems.

GSH Mental Health Treatment Facility - Corvallis, Oregon
This project consisted of the expansion of an existing hospital to provide 2 psychiatric wards. The project included the addition of two indirect management officers' stations. Work included designs for custom touch screen graphic computer systems including the provision and integration of all security, door control and monitoring, intercom, paging and duress systems. Work also included a new access control system, and expansion of the existing CATV system.

Humboldt County Courthouse - Eureka, California
The renovation of this three story courthouse included the fire alarm and security electronics renovation of the intake and holding areas and all administration and court facilities. The systems include sound systems, duress, audio monitoring, door control and monitoring, intercom and paging systems, and CCTV, and television distribution systems.

Idaho State Mental Health Facility - Idaho
This new 340 bed medium/maximum security mental health facility includes kitchen, laundry, and administration spaces. Systems included a custom muti-node touch screen graphic computer systems for door monitoring and controls, intercom and paging systems, duress alarm monitoring, and CCTV system camera selection with digital video recording. Each of the systems was fully integrated through the use of a PLC system. Auxiliary controls of power, domestic water, dayroom and cell lighting, and HVAC fan controls were also included. Other systems included a CATV distribution and access control (card reader) systems.

Idaho State Women’s Prison Security and Life-Safety Renovation D/B - Pocatello, Idaho
This 200 bed facility included a custom, multi-node touch screen graphic computer systems to support the replacement and expansion of the door control and monitoring, intercom and paging systems, duress alarm annunciation, and CCTV system camera selection at the indirect management central control rooms. Other systems included the total replacement of the fire alarm system.

Island County Jail Facility - Whidbey Island, Washington
Upon Completion of the Island Count Jail Fire Alarm Replacement and the new Island County Juvenile Facility Project, HK was awarded the Island County Jail Security Electronics Replacement Project.

In this 40 bed facility, work included the total replacement of the facilities existing PLC system, hardwired replay logic systems, control panel system, and touch screen system (less than 2 years old) with a new touch screen and PLC system for door and intercom monitoring and control. To minimize costs while increasing the system Mean-Time-Between-Failure statistics, HK's designs utilize the new pair of redundant PLC used in the adjacent facility for all system processing. To reduce spares inventories and simplify the counties maintenance of the two systems, the designs require the same equipment by used in the Jail as in the Juvenile facility.

King County Jail Maleng Regional Jail Security Renovation - Seattle, Washington
Work in this 1400+Bed Adult Male and Female Jail included the total replacement of the existing 23-node touch screen system and the 25-node PLC system used for door, intercom, surveillance television, duress, perimeter security, elevators, and various utilities. Renovation and/or expansion of the personal duress, perimeter security, intercom, and CCTV systems were also included, as well as the total replacement of the UPS power system.

King County Jail Maleng Regional Justice Center Security Renovation/Replacement - Seattle, Washington
Work in this 233,0000 sq. ft., 5 story court house included a 26,000 sq. ft. renovation of existing spaces to create 5 new courtrooms. Each new courtroom was provided with associated judges’ chambers, and support spaces. Systems included courtroom A/V with Video Arraignment. Security elements included access control (card reader system), door, intercom, surveillance television, and duress system monitoring and control.

Kitsap County Jail, 200 Bed Expansion and 150 Bed Renov. - Port Orchard, Washington
This 350 bed facility included custom touch screen graphic computer systems for duress, audio monitoring, door control and monitoring, intercom and paging systems, and CCTV system camera selection at the indirect management central control rooms. The touch screen system also included control of domestic water, sprinkler water, power, lighting, elevators, and television circuits. LCD touch screen panels are provided at each of the existing and new direct management officers' stations. All systems were fully integrated through the use of a PLC system. Other systems included television distribution, visitor's intercom, UPS, and access control (card reader) systems.

Lane County Public Safety Building and Court House - Eugene, Oregon
The renovation of this five story courthouse included the security electronics renovation of the intake and holding areas and all administration and court facilities. The systems include duress and a comprehensive access control system replacing 7 existing non-interfaced systems of differing manufacturers and means of gaining access to areas, into a single site wide system.

Legal Offenders' Unit (300 bed), Western States Hosp. - Lakeview, Washington
This 300 bed, $60,000,000 - 168,000 square foot facility includes custom control panels for duress alarm monitoring, audio monitoring, door control and monitoring, intercom and paging systems, and CCTV system camera selection at the indirect and direct management officers' stations. All systems were fully integrated through the use of a PLC system. Central Control Room consoles used for mounting the control panels, CCTV monitors, and other equipment was also designed by HK. Other systems included fire alarm, television distribution, visitor's intercom, UPS, and access control (card reader) systems.

Lewis County Jail, 200 Bed Expansion and 150 Bed Renov. - Chehalis, Washington
This 350 bed facility included custom touch screen graphic computer systems for audio monitoring, door control and monitoring, intercom and paging systems, and CCTV system camera selection at the indirect management central control rooms. The touch screen system also included control of domestic water, sprinkler water, power, lighting, elevators, and television circuits. Also included was a video visitation system with expansion capabilities of video arraignment. All systems were fully integrated through the use of a PLC system. Other systems included television distribution, visitor's intercom, UPS, and access control (card reader) systems.

Marysville City Jail Security Electronics Renovation - Marysville, Washington.
This detention electronics systems upgrade included the renovation of existing security electronics utilizing a new PLC system equipped with touch panels. The project also included the renovation and expansion of the existing CCTV system.

Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Brig at Miramar D/B - San Diego, California.
This $28M expansion project included the renovation of existing security electronics utilizing a PLC system networked with an 8 node touch screen system for remote control and monitoring of doors, intercoms, and CCTV system. Existing systems were expanded and included the ability of the existing Central Control Room to take control of each of the remote officers stations individually.

Multnomah East County Corrections, Oregon State Courts, and Gresham City Jail - Gresham, Oregon
This project included courts and holding areas along with administration areas for city, county, and state offices. Systems included a PLC based multi-node touch screen (GUI) system to monitor and control doors, intercoms, duress, and CCTV systems. The CCTV system included a DVR system for recording of both audio and video media. Also included were courtroom sound systems, video visitation, video arraignment, and

Multnomah County Detention Center Booking Renovation - Portland, Oregon
This project consisted of a renovation of the facilities booking center. Work includes new custom control panels and an integrated door control, CCTV, intercom and paging, and security system. Other systems include CATV distribution. The County directed that the systems are "to be designed as closely to that which HK provided for the Inverness Jail Project as possible." Booking detainees during the renovation process was performed at the Temporary Booking Facility also designed by HK.

Multnomah County Inverness Jail (Phase 2 & 3) Expansion - Portland, Oregon
Phase 2 expansion of this 220-bed facility to 440 beds included the complete renovation of all administration areas. Phase 3 expansion of the facility to 920+ beds is currently in the final stages of completion. Work included designs for custom control panels for the replacement of all security, door control and monitoring, intercom, paging and video surveillance systems. Other systems included two access control systems, nurse call, radio, UPS, and MATV distribution.

Multnomah County Inverness Jail, Mental Health Conversion - Portland, Oregon
This project consisted of the conversion of 2 segregation units (54 bed) from maximum security to a psychiatric facility for legal offenders. The project included the addition of direct management officers stations and the renovation of the Central Control Room. Work included designs for custom control panels to support the direct management officers' stations including the integration of all security, door control and monitoring, intercom, paging, and duress systems. Other work included the addition of master intercom stations, telephone and data outlets, and the relocation of power and television outlets.

Multnomah County Mead Bldg A & D Treatment Facility - Portland, Oregon
This facility is a high rise, alcohol and drug treatment facility. General security was provided throughout the facility utilizing glass breakage detection, motion detection, and door position monitoring. Provision of an access control (card reader) system was also included at departmental entries and in elevator cabs. CCTV system designs and 24-hour video archiving was included.

Multnomah County Temporary Booking Facility - Portland, Oregon
This project consisted of modular facility to be utilized during the renovation process of the MCDC Booking facility. Work included new custom control panels and an integrated door control, CCTV, intercom and paging, and security system. Other systems include CATV distribution. The County directed HK "to design the systems as closely to those designed for Inverness Jail by HK as possible." Due to the 8-month life expectancy of the facility, a key design feature was to provide systems that had either high salvagability for use as spares in other facilities, or where systems could not be salvaged, be inexpensive.

Multnomah County River Patrol - Portland, Oregon
This police station includes custom control panels, integrated door control, CCTV, intercom and paging, and security systems. Other systems include access control system networked to the County wide card reader system. 

Multnomah County Wapato Jail - Portland, Oregon
This new 500+ bed (expandable to 2000 bed) facility includes custom control panels and an integrated door control, CCTV, UPS, intercom and paging, and security system. Other systems include access control, nurse call, radio and CATV distribution. The County directed HK that the systems are "to be designed as closely to that which HK provided for the Inverness Jail Projects as possible." The systems featured redundant PLC processors and power supplies in a centralized network.

Oregon State Master Plan - Salem, Oregon
This master plan evaluated the existing condition, expansion capacity, spares inventories, remaining economic life of every data and telecommunications system and every security, fire and communications system in the Oregon DOC system.

Oregon State Penitentiary - Salem, Oregon
This renovation of an existing 2000 bed adult detention facility included the replacement of the existing fire alarm system and interface to existing door control and elevator systems using a networked touch screen control system.

Oregon City Commissioners, A/V and Video Arraignment Renovation - Oregon
Work included a comprehensive remotely controllable A/V system for voice reinforcement, sound reinforcement, A/V projection. The system was utilized for video arraignment, video evidence projection, recording of audio and video onto numerous recording formats. In addition of video arraignment, proceedings are back-fed to the cable television system franchisee holder for state-wide distribution. Components include two R/W DVD's units, two VCR's a document scanner, video projection, six computer VGA inputs, a VGA switcher, a 32 channel audio mixing board, a courtroom assisted listening system, pre-view and program monitors, remotely controllable P/T/Z cameras, title generator, and split screen fader, CATV back-feed equipment.

Oregon Women's Correctional Center Perimeter Security (Report) - Salem, Oregon
This project included a report detailing the condition, salvagability, remaining economic life, reparability, and replacement costs of the existing site perimeter security systems.

Oregon Women's Correctional Center, Central Control Room Renovation - Salem, Oregon
This project included the security electronics upgrade of the security systems in the control room.

Oregon State Penitentiary, Site Fire Alarm Replacement - Salem, Oregon
This renovation of an existing 200 bed adult detention facility included the replacement of the existing fire alarm system and interface to existing door control and elevator and elevator systems using a networked touch screen control system.

Due to the success of this project, Mr. Hopkins was given the additional projects including OSP's Intensive Management Unit, OSP's Central Control Room Renovation, OWCC Control Room Renovation, and OWCC Site CCTV system replacement, and several other ODC projects.

Oregon State Penitentiary, Intensive Management Unit, CCTV Up-Grade - Salem, Oregon
This project included in new CCTV system and up-grades to the IMU control rooms for the multi-pod intensive management unit of the prison.

Pierce County Jail - Washington
Designs for this 1776 bed detention facility includes the renovation of an existing 776 beds and 1000 new. Systems include provision of custom control panel / touch screen graphic computer systems for integration of door monitoring, door control, intercom and paging, and CCTV systems. Other systems include fire alarm, and telephone/data and television distribution systems.

San Diego County Women’s Prison - San Diego, California
Upon winning the design competition for this project work in this new 1440+Bed Adult Female Jail campus (expandable to 2000-beds) design/build project included a 16-node touch screen and PLC system with a digital intercom, personal duress, and perimeter security. The surveillance television systems is a 250 camera analog system with DVR’s to support high resolution camera recording 24/7 for 25 months. Remote control of dayroom power, lights, exhaust fan, etc. was also provided.

Seattle Metropolitan 640-Bed Jail - Seattle, Washington
This new 640+ bed city jail includes a multi-node touch screen system with a centralized PLC system for integrated control of the cell and movement doors, intercom and paging, the CCTV, duress alarm, and general security systems. External systems to be integrated include cell and dorm lighting, TV power, domestic water, and inmate telephone. The systems featured redundant PLC processors in a centralized network. Other systems include access control (card reader), video visitation, visitor’s intercom, video arraignment, and CATV distribution systems.

Tehama County Jail, Security Electronics System Replacement - Red Bluff, California
Work included our construction administration services for the total replacement of the facilities  fire alarm and security electronics systems including t he door monitoring and control systems, and the CCTV and intercom/paging system headend elements

Tillamook County Law Enforcement & Correctional Center - Tillamook, Oregon.
This combination police station and 90 bed jail includes a networked touch screen system that integrates security, door monitoring and control, intercom, CCTV, and MATV system control. The touch screen system was also programmed to control lighting, power, domestic water and time-out functions of the visitor’s intercom, and other supplementary systems. Also included was a stand-alone access control system.

Thurston County Accountability and Restitution Center (Phase 1) - Olympia Washington
This new 350 bed medium/maximum security jail includes housing, kitchen, laundry, and administration spaces. Systems included custom touch screen graphic computer systems for door monitoring and controls, intercom and paging systems, duress system monitoring, and CCTV system camera selection with digital video recording, a video visitation system, and video arraignment systems. Each of the systems was fully integrated through the use of a PLC system. Auxiliary controls of power, domestic water, dayroom and cell lighting, and HVAC fan controls were also included. Thurston County Accountability and Restitution Center (Phase 2) - Olympia Washington
This new 310 bed medium/maximum security jail expansion includes housing, Video Visitation Systems, and the Renovation of the existing Court facility to facilitate Video Arraignment. Systems included custom touch screen graphic computer systems for door monitoring and controls, intercom and paging systems, duress system monitoring, and CCTV system camera selection with digital video recording, a video visitation system, and video arraignment systems. Each of the systems was fully integrated through the use of a PLC system. Auxiliary controls of power, domestic water, dayroom and cell lighting, and HVAC fan controls were also included. Other systems included a CATV distribution.

Tohono O'odham Combination Jail / Juvenile Detention Facility - O'odham, Arizona
This new combination jail/juvenile detention facility includes a graphic touch screen computer system for integrated door control, CCTV, intercom and paging, and security systems. Other systems include access control, and CATV distribution. The systems featured redundant PLC processors and power supplies in a centalized network.

Waianae Police Station (Adult and Juvenile Holding)– Kapolei, Hawaii
This new $8M police station included segregated adult, juvenile, male, and female holding, and processing areas.  Systems included custom touch screen graphic computer systems for door monitoring and controls, intercom and paging systems, duress system monitoring, and CCTV system camera selection with digital video recording.  Each of the systems was fully integrated through the use of a PLC system. Other systems included a CATV distribution and access control (card reader) system.

Warm Springs Indian Reservation Security Electronics Evaluation Report – Warm Springs, Oregon
Work included a thorough evaluation of the reservations existing CCTV, intercom, door and gate monitoring systems as well as their existing control electronics and control panel systems.

Washington State Reformatory, Closed Custody Conversion - Monroe, Washington
This renovation of an existing 640-bed adult detention facility included a new touch screen system to replace existing control panels. Work included integration to an existing field equipment and CCTV video switching systems and the addition of a new PLC system to replace their existing hard wired control panel system. Design criteria included: redundancy in PLC system control electronics, redundancy in touch screen software and hardware, capability of taking control from housing touch screens by central control, and automatic control switchover to central control from housing in case of duress initiation. Additionally, this system was to harden the facility and bring it from medium security to closed custody. The system provides the ability of the operator to select a cell in preparation of door control; when selected, the nearest camera pans to the cell and zooms in on the inmates cell front to allow the officer to observe the scene prior to opening the door.

Systems include custom control panels with integrated door monitoring and control, CCTV, intercom and paging system. Mr. Hopkins is a member of the American Jail Association (AJA), and is on the committee of advisors for curriculum studies at ITT Technical Institute and is a regular guest speaker at ITT and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. (IBEW) 

He has been a Guest Speaker for seminars hosted by the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) and for the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SMI).

Mr. Hopkins has been a guest on television news shows as a security expert to provide analysis and perspective on handling news stories. He has been quoted in news papers, magazines, and other media.

Mr. Hopkins has received numerous awards for public service including "Man of the Year" from the Congressional Businessmen's Advisory Council.
